Accessibility statement

Last updated: April 2026

Our commitment

IRF2BPL Israel is committed to making information and services equally available to all users, including people with disabilities. We work to keep the site accessible and fix issues reported to us.

Standards

The site is designed to meet the requirements of the Israeli Equal Rights for People with Disabilities Regulations (Service Accessibility Adjustments), 5773-2013, and aligns with the recommendations of Israeli Standard 5568 at level AA based on WCAG 2.0.

Accessibility features on this site

  • Floating accessibility menu — font enlargement, high-contrast mode, link underlining, and animation pausing
  • Full keyboard navigation via the Tab key
  • Clear visible focus indicator on every interactive element
  • Semantic markup and screen-reader support (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver)
  • Clear labels on every form field
  • Alternative text on meaningful images and graphics
  • Skip-to-main-content link at the top of every page
  • Full right-to-left support for Hebrew

Known limitations

  • The family map is built on Leaflet, which is primarily mouse-driven. A fully accessible version is on the roadmap; all map information is also available in text form on the Families page.
  • The Variant Explorer feature (currently a placeholder) will be reviewed for accessibility before it goes live.
